The Political Science Graduate Student Council at the University of Florida (PSGSC) is an independent organization that advocates on behalf of the interests of graduate students in the political science department, and facilitates the sharing of ideas and research campus wide. Founded in 1995, the Council serves as the voice of political science graduate students, and acts as a liaison between students and the department, college, university, and community.
Through regular meetings, events, and dialogue, PSGSC brings students together across fields to raise matters of concern, discuss research, and further the department’s mission of providing high quality graduate training. PSGSC holds research presentations and discussions as a part of our Political Science Workshop Series, which hosts students, faculty, and speakers from outside the department and university, and organizes the Graduate Gators Mentoring Program for incoming students. The Council also hosts social events throughout the year that give students the opportunity to build relationships within the political science graduate student community and the university at large.
PSGSC is located inside the Department of Political Science main office on the second floor of historic Anderson Hall.
